I was wanting to buy a Cadillac and I was wondering what's the difference between the models ,.

The ATS is the first car on the Alpha chassis, which is why I am driving a Cadillac. I would have bought the first Alpha regardless of brand. If Buick or Chevy had their alpha first (and it wasn't butt ugly) I would have bought that. If you are into handling and want a new sedan, it doesn't get any better at least in the price range. About the only downside is a poor automatic transmission compared to most of the competition. Buy a turbo manual and let others live with the shortcomings.

The 2013 CTS is the end of a long production run. It's a very good car but heavy with dated interior and electronics and not near the front in handling.

The 2014 CTS is a stretched Alpha. If the ATS isn't big enough for you, its a great choice. Its even a bigger car than the outgoing CTS and has moved up about $6k in price over the old one.
