Cadillac ATS reliability--let's get better info
I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that made the differences between cars clearer. So a few years ago I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to track cars closely as they age.
We've had excellent participation by Audi A4/S4, BMW 3-Series, and Infiniti G owners, and I'd similarly like to provide solid stats for the Cadillac ATS. Just a matter of getting enough owners involved.
Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, following the end of each quarter.
To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the ATS, for free. I'll share results for the ATS in this thread after each update.

We're now more than halfway. If another seven owners joined, I could add the ATS to the survey.

surprised you still dont have enough for the survey. there are alot of ATS out there and it seems like a more than a few of them are having problems.

I realize that you don't have as many ATSs signed up as you'd like but could you share any of the results you currently have? Have you started collecting survey results from the signed up ATS owners yet?

One reason may be the one why I won't participate. The post below shows a complete lack of knowledge of auto reliability figures. Three problems or even dozens of problems does not indicate a particular car is substandard. Take a look at the J. D. Power figures (for example). Take the percent of cars with problems of the most reliable car in their database and then multiply that times the number of cars sold. So while I would like to see figures from another source, I wouldn't trust ones put together by someone who seems out of touch with reality.

One or two I would write off as a fluke, but there seem to be three or more. Even if the root cause is bad fuel, the ATS seems more sensitive than most. Have people been posting which engine is having these stalling / won't start problems?

truedelta has been one of those websites i never really trusted for info, never even go on their unless something like this comes up. Better to look at more reputable sources than these guys.

What sources would you recommend looking at instead???

its a good resource for looking up what kind of problems exist for a certain kind of car
i mean there is no doubt that people with no problems aren't going to sign up for the website. its going to be a bunch of people who HAVE problems with their car.

TBH I still find forums to be more useful than TrueDelta. Over there you only get the data but there isn't the communication and sharing aspect that you get from a forum... Although both are going to be quite skewed...

it's why i use both, i stay on forums and other websites like true delta and other non forum based websites since they all have different things to offer.
