ATS grows on you
Traded in my 2008 CTS for a 2013 ATS. Could have actually gotten a 2013 CTS for 700 less than what I paid for the ATS, but didn't want a model at the end of its lifecycle, the 2013 CTS looked exactly the same inside as my 2008 CTS did and that was a little bit of a turn-off, and my son would have never forgiven me if I didn't get the latest technology.
Several things bothered me from the get go-couldn't get the memory on the seat to work (More on that later), the 2.5 liter 4 was a big drop in power from the base engine in my 2008 CTS, the truck and back seat space were limited to say the least and the head lights and high beams are awful. For all the addititonal gizmos I got on the ATS, I gave up a few things I got used to from the CTS (rain sensing wipers probably the one I miss the most, heated seats, and halogen headlights)
Had the car at the dealer twice before they figured out that I had the wrong key fob to set memory 1-found I could set memory 2-but not 1. I thought they were supposed to know more about the tech than me. Evidently not. After driving a loaner 2.0 turbo-both cars hesitate when you step on the gas. So I can't get to 60 in 6 seconds-have to wait 1.5 more seconds. I am 66 year old. I can wait. Not worth the extra 1,800. My 2004 Saab with at 2.0 turbo 200 HP didn't have any such hesitation. Putting the car in Sports Mode gives it just the right amount of pep for me.
Now that I got the right seating postion, I am more satisifed with the car. Like the smaller car and how it sticks to the road on even the tightest turns. I am excited everytime I get into to drive it. Wouldn't be able to say the same if I had purchased the 2013 CTS being that it was so much like my old car.
